WHO WE ARE
Confrut was founded by my father, Giacomo Corte, in 1997 in the town of Conchal, 180 kilometers from the city of São Paulo. We started planting limes, oranges and mangoes on the existing Capelinha estate. Before Confrut, Capelinha served in other activities. However, when the company settled in, the focus was on lime and mango production and export to Europe. Over the years, my father realized that it was time to put mangoes aside, and we concentrated solely on lime production.
In 2002, we opened a branch in Cruz das Almas, about 170 kilometers from Salvador, Bahia, searching for an even higher quality lime for the foreign market. The city is in the Recôncavo Baiano and is famous for its cigars and citrus fruit, including the lime, which is usually very green and thick-skinned. It is not for nothing that my father chose this place.
At first, we bought a shed and the Água Branca estate, where we planted around 15,000 lime trees. Fortunately, Confrut continued to grow, and a few years later, we bought Sítio Santa Maria in the same region. We planted another 15,000 trees there, which presently account for 100 percent of our exports, along with Água Branca. It allows us to monitor management with meticulous and precise techniques at every stage of the production chain.
In 2017, my father passed away, and my sister Ana Paola and I inherited Confrut and decided to continue with the company. I took charge of operations. Since then, we’ve been learning planting techniques, management, and implements daily.
We aim to show that it is possible to have quality fruit and food in a large production area, combining the employment of techniques and machinery with a concern for the environment and the inheritance for future generations.

Água Branca Farm
In 2002, intending to increase production and look for a higher quality lime than the one from São Paulo, Confrut bought the Água Branca farm, located in the municipality of Sapeaçu, neighboring Cruz das Almas, where it began planting limes.
Its characteristics
The site has an area of around 65 hectares (ha), with 20 ha of legal reserve with native plants (ingá, eucalyptus, dendê, umbaúba, jamelão, cajá, jerema, mango, aroeira, bamboo) and around 35 ha of lime plantations. There is also a house, a shed for tractors and implements, and a tool shed.
